Erik D. Reichle, Ph.D.

I’m currently a Professor of Cognitive Psychology in the School of Psychological Sciences at Macquarie University in Sydney, Australia.  I’m also currently the Director of the MEG Executive Committee and the Course Director of the Cognitive and Brain Sciences degree.  I’m interested in the mental processes that support skilled reading, and I use computer modelling, brain imaging (EEG and MEG), and eye-tracking experiments to understand those processes.  My recent books, Computational Models of Reading: A Handbook (2021, Oxford University Press) and The Psychology of Reading: Insights from Chinese (2024, Cambridge University Press), provide nice overviews of my research and types of scientific questions that I try to address with my research.  When I’m not working, I enjoy traveling with my main collaborator in both life and science, Dr. Lili Yu.
